CHARLES' OBITUARY
Fred graduated from Glen High School in 1947. After marrying Ethel, and serving in the Army, he came back to Terre Haute to help manage Zimmerman Farms Apple Orchard with his dad. He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service, and I. S. U. He attended First Christian Church of Brazil.

Over the years, Fred and Ethel enjoyed many travels, especially with his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Jane. Their favorite place to visit was Gatlinburg, TN. They also enjoyed weekly meals out with the cousins. Fred loved gardening and spent many hours tending his beautiful rose garden. He was a lifelong I. U. basketball fan.

Fred is survived by three daughters, and a son, all of Terre Haute. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel on April 5, 2014, his parents, brothers, John and Jim, sister Joann, and son-in-law Gary Richards.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 28, 2022 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. A funeral ceremony will be held at 1:00 P.M. with Mark Grayless officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
