ALAMOGORDO, N.M. - Annette V. Duran, 64, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed on Dec. 8, 2013, surrounded by her family.

She was born on Sept. 18, 1949, in Sanford, Maine, to Edward and Irene Turner Parent.

She is survived by her husband, Goldie (Raul) Duran, of 41 years; daughter, Ana Moyers and her husband, Michael; grandchildren, Michael, Aiden, Ava, Mikayle and Sierra; great granddaughter, Bella; her mother, Irene Parent; sisters, Phyllis Curtis and her husband, Bob, Lucille Vigue and her husband, Ricky, and Jeanne Cote and her husband, Donald; several nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Charlie Duran and his wife, Lina, and Artie Duran; and sister-in-law, Ginger Farmer.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Parent.

She came to Alamogordo in 1971. She immediately fell in love with the area and made it her home.

She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her beloved Bianca, her dog. She was a good-hearted person with a great sense of humor.

She retired from Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center after 41 years of service. She enjoyed and loved her fellow coworkers and made many long-lasting friends throughout the community.

The Rosary was recited on Monday, Dec. 16, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by Linda Villabisencio. Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated afterward in the church, with Father Mike Lindsay, celebrant.

She will truly be missed by all.

The Duran family entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the funeral services. Cremation will take place at PCS.
