Supposedly, George and his wife Adora Ellen Wolf were living in Washington state and were visiting their children when they caught the flu of 1918 and died. And supposedly, they had a quite successful horse farm back in Washington.
17 members of his family, daughters, sons-in law and grandchidren died in the month of December from the flu outbreak. (the story of them living in Washington state and "just visiting," comes from my grandmother Pauline Hope Comstock Crowder telling that story to my brother, and he to me.)

Son of Henry Wolf and Catherine/Katherine R. Craft; husband of Adora Ellen Wilson, they were married Oct 12 1873 in Canton, Illinois; sibling of:

Charles Henry Wolf
Ida May Wolf
Edward Trimper Wolf
William Hedrstrum Wolf
Virginia Larrie Wolf
Henry Ernest Wolf
Carl Baxter Wolf
Herman Wolf
Buelah Wolf

Father of:
Fred Clifford Wolf
Lois Wolf Johnson
Alice Wolf Augustine
Maude Wolf Houser
Jessie Mae Wolf John
Mary Rose Wolf Comstock
Kathrine Wolf

Paternal grandparents:
John Philip Wolf, born abt 1800 in Bavaria
Wilhemenia Schultz Wolf born 1804

Maternal grandparents:
Thomas Craft 1796-1848
Hannah Miller Craft 1798-1881

Note: according to family records he died Dec 5 and according to his Missouri state death certificate, George Gibson Wolf died on Dec 9 and not Dec 8 and was born April 10 not April 8 as stated on his stone.

The stone for he and his wife was purchased by the Woodsmen of the World at the time of his death. His daughter Maude Wolf Houser, son-in-law Walter A. Houser, and grandsons Mark and Ralph Houser are all buried near them but all without any stones or markers. As of April 8th, 2016 Charley Houser received a headstone 84 years after his death.

According to a 1910 Federal Missouri Census, it lists GG Wolf and his wife having an adopted son (grandson) named Austin Gary aged 10 (born about 1904). Also living in the household was their daughter Jessie Wolf, 20 years old. Who did this little boy belong to??
