Donald Benjamin Hines, 82, of O'Fallon, IL, born January 31, 1925 in Granby, MO., died Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Donald was a member of the Church of Christ and retired, after 30 years, as a research chemist at Monsanto Chemical. Donald also served in the US Army during WW II.

He was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Leah, nee Trent, Hines, and wife Donna L. Hines, 2 sons; San Aaron & Nelson Dale Hines and all his brothers and sisters.

Donald is survived by 3 children; Rebecca (Paul) Chenard of Gainsville, GA, Julie (J.T.) Payne of Bloomington, IL, Jeffrey (Nana) Hines of San Diego, CA, 4 grandchildren; Daniel Chenard, Brian Chenard, Abigail Hines and Hannah Hines, 2 step grandchildren; Jason & Jon (Beth) Payne and a great grandson Jackson.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 13, 2008 from 2-5 pm at Schildknecht Funeral Home, 301 S. Lincoln Avenue, O'Fallon, IL.

Funeral service will be held Monday, January 14, 2008 at 10:00 am at Schildknecht Funeral Home, 301 S. Lincoln Avenue, O'Fallon, Ill., with Rev. Mike Mitchell officiating.

Burial will be at O'Fallon City Cemetery, O'Fallon, IL.
