SAN ANGELO - Dennis A. Robison of Knickerbocker, Texas, a brilliant, loving, creative man, passed away on December 10, 2021.

Dennis was born in San Angelo, Texas to Bill Robison and Aubrey Lee "Jewel" Sanders on October 30, 1946. He attended Angelo State University and later went on to begin his own business, Consolidated Contractors, Inc. During his career as a General Contractor spanning over 40 years, Dennis built hundreds of buildings in San Angelo and the surrounding communities. Some of the most notable projects are the Rio Concho Sports Complex - Texas Bank, the Porter-Henderson Library and 20+ other buildings at Angelo State University, restorations at Fort Concho and the Railroad Depot, The Paseo to the Celebration Bridge, The Texas Workforce Commission, MHMR, the gymnasiums on every SAISD campus, LeWright Dental Office (National Award), Rancher's Lamb, Kirby Park, Christoval Middle School ERO (Homeland Security), along with hundreds of other projects. Before closing the business in 2018 after 45 years of dedicated service to his community, the last project Dennis and Jackie tackled was the renovation of the Cathedral of The Sacred Heart. Dennis's legacy will continue throughout history with the projects he completed.

Dennis met his best friend and soulmate, Jackie L. Chesnutt, PE at Word of Life Pentecostal Church in 1994. There was an instant connection and the two became inseparable. They married on December 10, 1994. Soon after, the couple embarked on their first project together with Dennis serving as General Contractor (Consolidated Contractors, Inc) and Jackie serving as Engineer (Chesnutt Engineering, LLC). Many accolades were awarded for the conversion and restoration of the old Monarch Tile facility to the new Dr. Ralph R. Chase State of Texas Services Center building, which now houses 40 state agencies.

In 1998, the pair's dreams came true when they found their slice of Heaven, Persimmon Creek Ranch in Knickerbocker, Texas. There they raised Boer Goats for 15 years, during which time they designed and developed a "Round Bale Hay Feeder". On December 7, 2021, Dennis and Jackie were awarded a utility patent for their invention which will completely change the way round bales will be fed. By simply lifting the round bale off the ground and containing it, the feeder allows the entire bale to be consumed. Ranchers everywhere will be excited to reap the benefits of this new creation such as 50% reduction of hay costs and reduction of microbial load to livestock. This is by far their magnum opus.

In addition to his brilliance and intellect, Dennis was a man of love. Throughout their 27 years together, Dennis always made it a point to show his wife how much he loved and adored her with simple gestures. This included things such as bringing her a Boer Goat or fawn, flowers, or leaving love notes. His final note was sent on October 12, 2020 and reads as follows:

"Just a note about love. The first time I saw you was in Dan Springer's Sunday School Class. I was stricken by how beautiful you were and that has not changed. The love I have for you then and now has not changed. It is like getting in to a car that is already going a 100 miles an hour. Just wanted you to know."

Dennis' final ode to his and Jackie's love was that he passed away on December 10, 2021. This was their 27th wedding anniversary.

Dennis had an immense love for the Lord. His faith in God was central to his being and was the foundation of his life and his works. He had a zest for life and lived every day to the fullest.

Dennis also had many wide and varied passions. If you knew him, chances are he taught you about precious metals, firearms and ammunition, movie posters, and genealogy. In his research, Dennis discovered his kinship to Joel Walter Robison. The Mexican General, Santa Anna, was said to have entered the Texan Camp riding double on Robison's horse. Robison was then commissioned to First Lieutenant of the Texas Rangers. He was very proud of his ancestral heritage.

Dennis battled Vascular Dementia during the last few years of his life. This was due to many strokes, heart attacks, and health issues of all kinds. During the last 16 months of his life, his condition was exacerbated due to an involuntary circumstance which ultimately led to his passing in an undignified manner not of his choosing.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Carl Kirkland; brother, Doug Robison; and sister, Louise Nixon.

Left to cherish Dennis' memory are his loving wife, Jackie L. Chesnutt Robison, PE; son, Brian Burson ("Father Jeremiah") of the Greek Orthodox Monastery of Mount Athos, Greece, and nephew, Daryl Perry and wife Paula.

A Celebration of Dennis' Life will take place on May 1, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Persimmon Creek Ranch 15033 Guinn Road, Knickerbocker, Texas 76939. Friends and family are invited to bring memories and a potluck dish to share.

In lieu of flowers, Jackie asks that you make a memorial donation in Dennis' name to the Dementia Society of America, by mail to PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901 or www.DementiaSociety.org/donate.
