She resided in the Gloucester House Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Hospice for the last eight years. Ruth was employed by the City of Hampton as a Crossing Guard and a Quality Control Inspector for Allied Signal, Bendix, and Honeywell.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, and grandson, Scott Spencer. She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Spencer (Robert), Kathleen Whitfield (Jack) and son, Samuel Wilson (Nancy), four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She leaves behind one brother, Glenn Turner (Shirley).
