MADILL -- Services for Marion Francis Danner, 87, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Watts Memorial Chapel with Roy Oates and Malon Ward officiating. Interment will be at Woodberry Forest Cemetery.
Danner was born Feb. 29, 1912, in Mannsville, to James P. and Jennie M. McGwinn Danner. He died Jan. 9, 2000, in a local health care facility.
Reared in Johnston and Marshall counties, he married Lucille Givens Oct. 7, 1934, at Madill, where he had owned and operated Danner's City Garage here for 50 years. He had been a member of Masonic Lodge more than 50 years, served as past worshipful master, and was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dec. 20, 1998; and a son, James on April 21, 1994.
Survivors include a son, Mark, Madill; three daughters, Peggy Martin, Rogers, Ark., Bobbie Harris and Mary Ann Blakely, Madill; a brother, Joe, Bandera, Texas; two sisters, Jodie Jones, Waterford, Calif., and Mary Banducci, Oakdale, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Danny Blakely, Russell Douglas, Travis Dyer, Eddie Smith, Scott Kubrich, Phillip Reznicek, Jason Cobb, David and Dustin Danner.
