John M. Walsh, 82, of Stroud Township, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, while under hospice care in his home. He was the husband of Nancy ((Crafton) Walsh with whom he shared 35 years of marriage.

Born on November 3, 1939 in Ballyhaunis, County Mayo, Ireland, he was a son of the late Patrick and Mary (Cribbin) Walsh. He had previously lived in New York, California and Michigan prior to moving to Pennsylvania five years ago.

He left home at a young age to work on cruise ships out of England and then in 1971 came to the United States and worked as a carpenter.

John was a member of The Church of St. Luke in Stroudsburg.

He played the accordian and enjoyed music, riding his bike and traveling.

In addition to his wife, surviving are two sisters, Bridget Bonner of Wales and Joan Imelda O'Shea of Long Island, NY; a brother, James Walsh of County Mayo, Ireland; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph Walsh, Tom Walsh and Patrick Walsh; and a sister, Mary Cooke.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 25, at 11:00 am at The Church of St. Luke, 818 Main Street, Stroudsburg with Monsignor John Bergamo as celebrant. Burial will follow at Stroudsburg Cemetery. A private family viewing will take place prior to the Mass.
