MOTHER LILLIE MAE CARR

Mother Lillie Mae Carr, 101 entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at the Riverview Covalence Home. She was a native of Barnwell, SC, and attended the public schools of Barnwell. She spent most of her adult life in Savannah, GA, having lived also in New Haven, CT, for over 35 years before moving back to Savannah.

A former member of First Evergreen Baptist Church and Faith Hope Charity In Christ Evangelistic Ministries. She recently moved her membership to Sanctuary Of Praise Christian Assembly, Inc., where she served on the Mothers Board and the Sunday School. She was a retired employee of the Chatham County Board of Education where she served as a Lunch Room Worker for many years. She also held membership with the International Order of Eastern Stars.

Her husband Doc Carr, her daughter, Sarah English, and son, James Carr all preceded her in death.

Mother Carr is survived by her daughters, Cleo Gilbert and Helen Moore, both of Savannah, GA, Belle Moore (Leon), Charlotte, NC; sons, Harold Howard, Charlotte, NC, and Elder John Carr (Arlene), New Haven, CT; sister, Alberta Reid, Pooler, GA; 26 Grandchildren, 30 Great-Grandchildren, and 12 Great-Great Grandchildren.
