He was born in Kankakee, the son of Melvin Sr. and Luella Foltz Watson.
David enjoyed fishing, watching old movies and recycling. He previously worked with the family at M&W Disposal, Joliet and See's Cleaning Service in Michigan City, Indiana.
Surviving are five sisters, Melba Morgan, of Arizona, Charlene Day, of Kankakee, Loretta Mason, of Arizona, Linda Estes, of Kankakee, and Carol See, of Michigan City, Ind.; along with many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and three brothers, Melvin Watson, Jr., Richard Watson and Robert Watson.
A memorial service will be at a later date.
