Marjo was born on July 31, 1946, in Fairbury, IL, the daughter of Joseph P. and Marjorie E. (Ashley) Lawless of Sibley, IL.
She was a graduate of Rockford East High School in Rockford and then continued her education at Bradley University in Peoria. Marjo worked for many years in Springfield as a real estate appraiser. Her working life included a variety of diverse positions including caseworker, counselor, real estate sales, and she was even a bunny at the Playboy Club in Chicago.
Marjo enjoyed life, family, and friends. She was always there to brighten the lives of others, lend a hand, offer a shoulder to lean on, or be a compassionate listener and advisor. Marjo's love of family, friends, empathy for all people, and adventurous personality is how she will be remembered most.
Marjo is survived by her daughter, Mollee Cole; grandson, Andrew Cole; and granddaughters, Lillee and Ashlee Cole, all of Naples, FL; and sister, Janita Kemnitz of Elk Grove Village. She also leaves a wonderful extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Cremation was provided by Lincoln Land Cremation Society.
A Celebration of Life is planned for June 2022.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Marjo's name to support her grandchildren's future educational needs through their mother, Mollee Cole, 5934 Premier Way, Unit 2237, Naples, FL 34109.
