From Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home:

Kathleen Clark, BSN, RN, C, also lovingly known as "Mimi" by her grandchildren, was born November 13, 1951, at Camp Lejeune, NC to Richard and Ruby Brindle. Kathleen was the oldest of four girls. As a baby, she experienced life threatening illnesses which impacted the rest of her life. Kathleen was raised in San Jose, California, graduating from Campbell High School in 1969. In 1971, she met her husband, Jim, while he was a student at West Valley College. They were married in 1973 and had two children, Shane and Shantel. Kathleen was a stay at home mom and eventually opened a Christian book store called Christian Books and Gifts. Her children enjoyed working there with her after school. Even with the bookstore, she always made time to be at all her children's events and practices.

In 1989, they moved to Mt. Herman Christian Conference Grounds. Kathleen always had a desire to work in the medical field so when her children were in high school she returned to school and graduated with a BSN with honors from San Jose State. She was valedictorian of her class and received an award from the State of California for the highest score that year on the state nursing exam. For many years, Kathleen worked in various health care fields. She was one of the first in the country to be certified in nursing informatics and traveled all over the United States in that role.

After the birth of Jim and Kathleen's first granddaughter, Natasha, they moved to Texas to be closer to their grandchildren. Her four granddaughters in Texas have been the love of her life. She loved going to all their events, playing board games, watching movies, and being a mentor to them. Even when her illness kept her from leaving her bed, she always managed the strength to hang out with "her girls" and provide a listening ear. Most recently, Shane's toddler daughter and young son have been an important part of her life via facetime since they live out of the country. She always looked forward to their phone calls.

Kathleen was the kindest person you would ever meet. She always put others before herself and always showed the love of Jesus Christ to everyone around her. She also had a strong heart for missions, both local and overseas. She started a medical homeless clinic in California and helped people not only become physically healthier but obtain jobs and move on with their lives as well. She also volunteered her time as a nurse for the Pregnancy Care Center of San Antonio. Recently, she helped her oldest granddaughter's project of putting together 10,000 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Everywhere she went she touched the lives of people around her with her sweet smile, kind words and love of Jesus.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Jim; along with her son, Shane and his wife Daisy and their children, James and Kathleen; as well as her daughter, Shantel and her husband Ryan Leininger and their children; Natasha, Kendall, Ashlyn, and Eliana. She is survived by her mother, Ruby Gearhart; and sisters, Dorothy, Yvonne, and Christie; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Kathleen; daughter of the King, wife, mom, "Mimi," daughter, sister, friend, and our hero, who taught us what it is like to live for eternity, will always be in our hearts. We can't wait for the glorious day when we get to see her face to face in Heaven. We love you and will miss you Mimi!

A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Boerne City Cemetery. A Celebration will be held at a later date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Mercy International at https://www.mercyintl.org/donate/ with a memo of "From One Child to Another".
