Mary Hughes Perry, 88, of Henderson, NC died Thursday April 21, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Symth County, VA, she was the daughter of the late William Edward Hughes and Margaret Wolfe Hughes. She was the widow of Marshall Linwood Perry Sr.
Mary was retired from Maria Parham Health. She was a member of South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a former choir member, a member of the Prayer Warrior Sunday School Class and the Morning Circle Ministry. She enjoyed traveling and one of her favorite trips was to Nova Scotia.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 24, 2022 at 3:00 p.m., at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church, conducted by the Rev. Mark Richardson and the Rev. Frank Sossamon. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
Surviving is one daughter, Sheryl Hope, three sons; Blake Day (Josephine), Marshall Perry Jr. (Sheryl) and William Perry (Tristan); four sisters, Margaret Tilson, Patricia McClure, Carolyn Buchanan and Sue Byrd, one brother, James Hughes; two grandchildren, Adam Hope (Betsy) and Lindsey Perry. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Nancy Jones, Libby Overbay and Isabelle Hockett and one brother, William E. Hughes Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 2:00-3:00 pm at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church. All other times, they will meet at her home.
Serving as pall bearers will be Charles Jarrell, Bobby Robbins, Harold Ranes, Joe Johnson, Joel McClure, Mike Parrish, Eddie Hughes, Gary Hughes and Bill Lloyd.
