Julie Donaldson Smith was the loving daughter of Carmel Long Donaldson and the late Joseph "Joe" Donaldson born March 12, 1957 in Forsyth County, North Carolina. Those who knew Julie, called her "Jewels" reflecting that contagious laugh, her encouraging and kind personality. Family was most important to Julie, especially her grandchildren, and she loved to care for each of them. She worked many years in office management and attended Trinity Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed spending her time in the sun at the beach, traveling to watch the children's baseball games, and watching her favorite television program, Grey's Anatomy. To her family and many friends, Julie will be cherished as an amazing mother and grandmother, precious daughter, sister and devoted friend. At the age of 65, she departed this life for her Heavenly home on April 19, 2022. A smile that will truly be missed.

Along with her father, she is preceded in death by a brother, Dave Donaldson and sister, Jo "Jody" Donaldson.

Julie is survived by her children, Tanner Smith (Lizzy) of Tampa, FL, Paige Quick (Chuckie) of Laurinburg, Connor Smith of the home; her mother, Carmel Long Donaldson, and brother, Chad Donaldson both of Laurinburg; her adoring grandchildren, Denim Quick and Dash Quick and special nephew, Michael Hewitt. She is also survived by a host of loving family and many friends.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in Hillside Memorial Park. There will be a time of visitation prior to the service on Saturday beginning at 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
