William Douglas "Bill" Marks, of Roscoe, entered into eternal rest on April 18, 2022. He was born September 17, 1949 in Prescott, Arkansas, the son of Henry and Zannie Mae Marks. William lived in Illinois since 1970 coming from Prescott. He married the former Rosemary Parham, November 7, 1973. William was employed as a machinist by National Lock, 12 years; later becoming a building engineer by the Rockford Public School District 205, 36 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Paul Church of God In Christ, serving as a deacon. William graduated from McRae High School in Prescott, Arkansas. He enjoyed life to the fullest, and truly enjoyed being outside.

William leaves to cherish many loving memories, his devoted wife, Rosemary; two daughters, Sonya Marks and Cherise Johnson; grandson, Sean Marks; brother, Larry (Sherisice) Marks; three sisters, Lorene Marks Foreman, Lois Douglass, and Eloise (Walter) McGill; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, James and Ray Marks; two sisters, Mae Helen Gulley, and Lucile Hale.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2022 at St. Paul Church of God In Christ, 1001 Bishop Washington Ave. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave.
