Arnold D. Harris

Arnold Dexter Harris, 65, a resident of Biloxi, MS passed away on April 12, 2022, at Memorial Hospital, Gulfport MS. Arnold was born at Keesler Air Force Base Hospital on December 21, 1956, to Patience Marie Harris and the late Franklin Theodore Harris. He attended Biloxi High School and graduated in May 1975.

He served in the United States Air Force as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician. During his tenure, he gained the necessary skills to provide him with a life-long career in HVAC. He was previously married to Vickie Davis Taylor on October 24, 1992. After leaving the Air Force he returned to Biloxi, MS for a fleeting period of time and then relocated to Atlanta, GA where he resided for over 8 years. He returned back to Biloxi, MS where he worked at McDonald Square, Edgewater Mall, and Chemours Delisle Plant as a HVAC technician.

He was a sports enthusiast and his hobbies included reading, fishing, cruise ship traveling, and socializing.

He is preceded in death by the following: his father, Frank Harris, his fraternal grandmother, Edvena Harris; his maternal grandmother, Betty Ruth Ford, a loving niece, Sonya Reed; and his mother-in-law, Mamie "Sanko" Davis.

He is survived by the following: three sons, Tyles Smith, Auric Harris, and Devin Harris all of Gulfport, MS; mother, Patience Harris, Biloxi, MS; two aunts, Carolyn Abside and Sandra Singleton, Biloxi, MS; four grandchildren, Morgan Smith, Tyles Smith, Jr., Kaiden Lampley, and A'mir Harris, all of Gulfport, MS; a brother, Robert Harris, one sister, Michelle Woodson, both of Biloxi, MS; nieces, Tammier Cooper, Simone Woodson, Auriah Singleton, and Keisha Griffith; a nephew, Kweisi Fountain; his best friends, Ted Barnes and Robert Hopkins; as well as a host of other relative and friends.

Funeral services will be Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 11:00 am at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Biloxi, MS with visitation being one hour before service beginning at 10:00 am.
