Jimmie Greene McEver, Jr., 79, of Snellville, GA, passed away on April 20, 2022, with his family at his side. He was born in Atlanta, GA, on November 18, 1942. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie Greene McEver and Alma (Bunny) Cleo Avery McEver. He is survived by his three sons, Jimmie Greene McEver, III, and his wife, Sabrina; Daniel Thomas McEver; Benjamin Maxham McEver and his wife Jessica; seven grandchildren, Suzy, Jack, Eva, Cooper, Lila, Hannah and Max; one great grandchild, Samuel; his sister, Sandra McEver Mitchell; niece, Heather; and nephew, Paul and his wife, Carla; two great-nephews, Joshua and Matthew; and many other friends and family who loved him.
Jimmie received Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Accounting from Georgia State University and worked as an accountant for Rich's, the Edwards Pie Company, and the Georgia World Congress Center. He later worked as a Bond Administrator for the City of Atlanta.
He enjoyed being with his family, and particularly loved time with his grandchildren and great grandson. He was an avid consumer of books, movies and documentaries about World War II and the American Old West. Jimmie loved his country and had great admiration for its military and first responders. He was a man of faith and derived great strength and comfort from his relationship with God.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 26, 2022 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cartersville, GA.
