John Brownlee, a 40-year resident of Big Bear Valley passed away. He was born to parents Walter and Colleen Brownlee in Lynwood, California. He spent his school years surfing in Hermosa and Manhattan Beaches, graduating from Mira Costa High School in 1967. His love was surfing and spending his time with the 24th St. buddies. In early 1972, he transferred his love of surfing for skiing, moving to Big Bear Lake. John worked at Snow Summit for over 30 years. John is survived by his sister Claudia Brownlee and dog Fiona. A celebration of life will be held at Law Paws Restaurant in Big Bear City, May 22, 2022 from 2-4pm.
