Evelyn Jean Hissey, 85, of Anderson passed away on April 16, 2022 at Miller's Merry Manor in Chesterfield following an extended illness.

She was born on February 17, 1932 in Reedsburg, Wisconsin to Elmer and Sarah (Ewing) Hissey. She graduated with a bachelor's degree from Anderson College and a master's degree from Ball State University. She taught Honor's English and Creative Writing at Highland High School for 31 years and retired in 1996.

She enjoyed traveling especially to England, Ireland, and Mexico. She was an avid reader, a beautiful seamstress and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her three siblings, Kathryn Ray of Anderson, Erwin Hissey of Pinedale, Wyoming and Marilyn "Lynn" (husband, Ken) Csire of Chesterfield; 10 nieces and nephews, 14 great-nieces and nephews, and three great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Carol Ann Hissey.

A private memorial service will be held at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.

She will be buried in Dayton Corners Cemetery in Richland Center, Wisconsin at a later date.
