Judy was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all that knew her. Judy was born October 11th, 1952, in Horry County S.C. Judy married her high school sweetheart and soul mate, James Thomas Colgate on July 9th, 1971. Judy worked as a City Clerk for the city of Lowell NC for 21 years before retiring in 2014. Judy loved life and spread happiness wherever she went. She had faith that could move mountains and did move several! Judy enjoyed trips to the beach, craft shows, crocheting, cooking and most of all, spending time with her family.
Judy leaves behind her husband of 50 years, James Thomas Colgate, sons James Thomas Colgate II (Amy) Christopher Martin Colgate (Shellie), daughter, Kendal Colgate Bowers (Tanner), Her mother, Dean Sanders, Brothers, Ford Sanders, and Randy Banks. Judy was cherished by her grandchildren, Madison & Caroline Colgate, Payton Neal, Jackson, Weston & Kaelynn Bowers, Megan Smith (Jeremiah) Austin Bowen (Tori), and Great Grandchildren, Wes & Jax Bowen and Everette Smith. Judy also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Judy was proceeded in death by her father, Billy West Banks and Stepfather, Lloyd Ford Sanders, brother, James Russell Banks, sisters, Gloria B. Chiarilli and Terron S. Holliday and In Laws, Samuel and Virginia Colgate.
There will be a graveside service at Hillcrest Cemetery, 1000 SC-544, Conway, SC 29526 on Saturday April 23, 2022 at 1:30PM.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Wendover Hospice House for the care and compassion shown to Judy in her final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Dr., Shelby, NC 28150.
