Mr. Hertle was born September 8, 1872, in Indianapolis, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Hertle, now deceased, who lived many years north of Tipton. September 20, 1910, he was united in marriage with Miss Edna Dooley of this city and for several years they resided on a farm north of Tipton. Twenty-three years ago they moved to the farm near Orestes. Surviving are the widow and five of the seven children, William, Robert, and Jack at home, Mrs. Wilfred Beher of Anderson and Mrs. Warren Ludlow of Orestes.
