Frank was born September 19, 1939 in Monmouth, Illinois to Frank Allen and Mary Eola (Pedigo) Armstrong. He was a 1957 graduate of Monmouth High School. Frank then went on to a successful career, working first for Meade Paper Corporation and then Westvaco Corporation.
Frank was a force in life. He was nicknamed "Punky" by his sisters, and it wouldn't take many minutes in his company to understand why. Frank had many hobbies—golfing, jogging, biking, fishing, and scuba diving to name a few. He was a talented artist and woodworker, and loved to dance, winning many dance contests with Mary in his arms. His margaritas were legendary; there was always a pitcher of frozen margs in the freezer when guests and friends stopped by.
Frank blazed through life, loved beyond measure, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lynne (Adams) Armstrong, son Robert John Armstrong, parents, and siblings Betty Bogner, Ellen House, Helen Johnson, John Armstrong and Jodi Simpson.
He is survived by his son, Mark Armstrong, and daughter Sarah Armstrong; grandchildren Jaimi Cabrera and Jessica (Brian) Niksa; and great-grandchildren Evelyn Cabrera, Olivia Cabrera, Mila Niksa and Frankie Niksa.
