Bennie Wiley Scott, Sr., passed peacefully away on February 6, 2022 at Capital Oaks Nursing Home. He was a native of Baton Rouge and a retired carpenter. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Angela Scott Gaines (Leonard), Baton Rouge, LA., four devoted sons, Kelvin Ray Scott (Leona), Bennie W. Scott (Stephanie), Anthony J. Scott (Mary), and Andre T. Scott (Coronda), all of Baton Rouge, LA. Thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022 at 9:00 am follow by Religious Services at 11:00 am at St. Mary Baptist Church, 1252 North Acadian East. Burial to follow at Louisiana National Cemetery Port Hudson. Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Velma Scott; sister, Alzina Cador; wife, Betty Jo Scott; son, Keith G. Scott; grandson, Daylon Wheeler; sister-in-law, Peggy A. Davis; and his brothers-in-law, Leroy Cador and Courtland Davis. Published by The Advocate from Feb. 15 to Feb. 17, 2022.
