Dale Jennett Potter, 56, of Bozeman passed away on March 15, 2007. She was born on June 2, 1950, in Rochester, N.Y., to Harlan and Margaret Munger. She grew up in upstate New York in the beautiful town of Holley.
Her lifelong love of education led her to Syracuse University and State University of New York, Brockport, where she earned her degree in teaching.
She met her future husband, Michael Potter, at Syracuse, and they were married on July 29, 1972, in Brockport, N.Y. Together they had four wonderful children and lived in some of the most breathtaking places in the United States, including Billings, Mont., Jackson Hole, Wyo., and most recently, Bozeman.
Dale taught elementary and junior high level classes in the Billings School District for seven years and coached girls' basketball. She set aside her teaching career to raise and nurture her children as well as support her husband Michael's business endeavors.
Dale can only be described as a selfless and loving mother, wife and coach who gave so much to so many. She also loved music, reading and walking.
Dale loved sports and was an avid tennis player, golfer and, in her younger years, softball and racquetball player. In addition to teaching, she coached girls' basketball and boys' and girls' soccer. Her boys' select soccer team in Wyoming won two state championships.
She was also the five-time golf club champion at the Teton Pines Country Club in Jackson Hole, winning four of those titles consecutively.
Dale is survived by her husband Michael Potter; son Jeffrey Potter (and his wife Amy) of Teton Valley, Idaho; daughter Meredith Potter of Waltham, Mass.; son Matthew Potter of Bozeman and daughter Katherine Potter of Atlanta, Ga. She is also survived by her mother Margaret Munger; her brother Craig Munger and her sister Melinda Bailey.
She was preceded in death by her father Harlan Munger.
Burial will be in the Sunset Hills Cemetery following the reception.
