Mrs. B. Pitre Dies Saturday
LAWTELL – Last rites were held at 10 a.m. today in St. Bridget Catholic Church here for Mrs. Bennie Pitre, the former Louisa Reed, 80, of Opelousas, who died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Opelousas General Hospital.
Burial was in the church mausoleum and directed by Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on the old Sunset Highway in Opelousas.
Survivors include her husband, Bennie Pitre of Opelousas; two sons, James and Ray Pitre, both of Opelousas; one daughter, Mrs. Wilma Venable of Opelousas;
One brother, Adler Ledoux of Opelousas; one sister, Mrs. Eraste Charles of Plaisance; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters of St. Bridget Catholic Church of Lawtell; a member of Farm Bureau and the St. Landry Parish Cattleman's Association and a retired member of the home demonstration club.
