Lela Blanks Walker, 96, widow of Robert Lee Walker, Jr., died Sunday, February 4, 2007 at MeadowView Terrace in Clarksville. Born in Buffalo Springs to the late Thomas Hardy and Hallie Nunn Blanks, Lela graduated from Clarksville High School with the Class of 1928. She received her LPN license in 1959 and worked as a nurse before becoming employed with Burlington Industries, where she retired after many years. Lela was a member of Clarksville Baptist Church. Graveside funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday in Oakhurst Cemetery with the Reverend Greg Randall officiating. Mrs. Walker is survived by daughter, Nancy Mondragon of Clarksville; sons, Robert Lee Walker, III and wife Nora, of Chase City; and Thomas E. Walker and wife, Ann, of Bridgewater. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughter, Rebecca Walker Gupton.
