Joyce Hilda Johnson, age 79, of Greenville, passed away at home on Saturday, April 16, 2022. She was born on December 9, 1942, the daughter of Charles and Shirley Misner. Joyce is preceded in death by her late husband, Charles Johnson, who she lovingly referred to as "Poopsie"; son, Greg Rasmussen, brothers, Arloe and Mick Misner; sisters, Shirley Merlington, Janet Hunt, Nancy Westervelt; and several other family members. Joyce is survived by her previous husband, Barry Bell Sr.; children, Kathryn (Scott) Enbody, Bill (Michele) Johnson, Jeff Bell, Scott Bell, Barry (Katherine) Bell, Chris (Kelly) Bell, Charlie (Shelly) Johnson, and Charlene (Eric) Depner; 15 grandchildren; 21 + great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Marlene Ledford, Dena (Jude) Martin, Lou Ellen (Gene) Fisk; and other relatives. Joyce was the matriarch of her blended family. She was a homemaker, a wife, and most importantly, a mother. She loved and was loved by all. A Celebration of Life will take place at Hurst Funeral Home on Friday, April 22 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm and 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A private graveside service for Joyce's family will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Gilda's Club.
