He was born June 3, 1930 in Minter, Alabama to the late Porter and Daisy Coleman. Henry met and married the love of his life the late Delena Jackson and they shared 50 years of Holy Matrimony, having five children.
He was an active and faithful member of St. Stephens United Methodist Church, Gautier, MS where he served as Chairman of the Finance Committee, until his failing health.
Mr. Coleman was employed with the Pascagoula Public School System for over 40 years with the Maintenance department. Upon his retirement he continued with Lawn Care until his failing health. His favorite past time was baseball. He coached and managed a Semi Pro Baseball Team, The Pass Point Pirates for years. His favorite team was the Atlanta Braves. He was an extremely hard working man, very devoted to his family- Firm, but had a kind and gentle heart.
Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his loving wife, Delena Jackson; sons, Leonard P. Coleman, Morris J. Coleman and Daryl E. Coleman; brothers, Howard Coleman, Willie Coleman and Paul Coleman; sisters, Ethel Mae Hurst, Fannie Mae Adams and Beatrice Mason.
He leaves to cherish his fondest memories one sister, Lillian Manley, Richmond, VA; three daughters, Brenda Shutz, Gautier, MS, Louise Tillman, St. Louis, MO, Lisa (Troy) Brown, Atlanta, GA; two sons, Henry, Jr. (Barbara), Moss Point, MS, Gregory Hite, St. Louis, MO; two sisters-in-law, Irma Coleman, Waco, TX. Bessie Coleman, Richmond, VI; fifteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and a host of loving and devoted nieces, cousins other relatives and friends
