Later, while working at Montgomery Wards in San Angelo, she met Henry King, and they married there on March 1, 1947. Lucille and Henry enjoyed a married life of 64 years

Lucille 's strong faith led her to serving others with a great devotion to our Blessed Mother Mary. She volunteered for many Catholic-based charities with a compassionate heart for helping others in need. She cherished her time at St. Vincent de Paul (Catholic Charities) in Abilene, Texas.

With God as the center of her life, she embraced being a mother with a loving heart and a strong faith. She remained devoted to the raising of her family. Over her long life, she remained passionate and devoted to her family, extended relatives, and friends both old and new. Living life, celebrating holidays and sharing birthdays brought her a deep satisfaction and great joy. For many years of her life, she enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening and cooking.
