Frederick C. Anderson, II, 86, of Joslin Road, a well-known north country welder and husband of Janice, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022, while surrounded by the loving care of his wife and family.

Affectionately known as "Fred," he was born in Utica, on November 25, 1935, a son of Frederick C. and Florence Beck Anderson. He grew up in Trenton Falls, later moving to Croghan, with his family, where they operated a general dry goods store. Fred received his education at The Father Leo Memorial School, Croghan, and a Beaver River Central School, earning his GED.

Mr. Anderson served his country in the U.S. Army. Later he attended welding school in Schenectady, NY, receiving a certificate in the trade of welding. Thereafter he was employed as a welder at his shop on Norton Road, Port Leyden and also for farmers and other people throughout a wide area of central and Northern NY.

On March 9, 1957, Fred was united in marriage with Janice E. Monnat, at St. Stephen's Church, Croghan. Thereafter the couple lived in the state of Washington, where Mr. Anderson was serving in the military. Later they returned to Croghan, where they resided, before moving to Norton Road, in 1968. After retiring from the welding business, Fred and Janice greatly enjoyed spending winters in Florida.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Boonville and greatly enjoyed hunting and spending time with his wife and family at their camp at Soft Maple, near Croghan, on Beaver River.

Fred, along with his wife, Janice, raised six children; Randy, Pam, Wade, Jannell, Fred and Lori; 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Fred was predeceased by a son, Wade, a granddaughter, Emily and two brothers; Morgan and Joseph.

A memorial Mass will be held on Friday April 22, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church, Boonville, where Rev. Matthew Rawson, pastor will officiate. Interment at a later date with be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Croghan. In keeping with Fred's wishes, there are no calling hours. Mr. Anderson had requested that in lieu of flowers, Mass cards be purchased in his memory.
