Solon Carl Apple, 88, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2008.

Mr. Apple was born on February 4, 1919 in Nashville, Tennessee. He attended Austin Peabody College of Nashville, Tennessee. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Warner Robins. He retired after 34 years of service as a Logistics Analyst for Robins Air Force Base. He was a keen golfer, and a member of the former Sandy Run Country Club and the Landings Golf Club. He was an avid football fan, especially of the University of Georgia, Bulldogs. His wife of 64 years, Mary Nell Apple, parents, Solon Carr Apple and Edda Apple, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his son, Robert Carl Apple (Stephanie), San Antonio, Texas; and niece, Terry Apple Martin (Paul), Clarksville, Tennessee.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2008 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a charity of the donors choice
