ILLIOPOLIS - Archie H. Cook, 87, of Illiopolis died at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at St. John's Hospice.
He was born June 10, 1920, in Mount Auburn. He was the son of Arthur Cook and Katie Herman Cook. He married Miriam Virginia Meek on July 21, 1940, in Bowling Green, Mo. She preceded him in death.
Archie is survived by his three children: Jerry Cook of Idaho, Judy Cook of Springfield and Joan Lechter of Washington; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was a farmer and retired as a mechanic from Graves Motor Co. in Illiopolis. He was a member of Illiopolis Christian Church. He was a past master in Illiopolis Masonic Lodge No. 521 and a lifetime member of Mount Auburn Masonic Kedron Lodge No. 340.
Funeral services will be held at Fullenwider-Park Funeral Home in Illiopolis at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, followed by burial in the Macon County Memorial Park in Harristown.
Memorials may be made in his name to Mount Auburn Masonic Kedron Lodge No. 340 or to American Cancer Society.
