Funeral services for Mrs. Melanie Miller, 96, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan 12, 2008 at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, with a rosary at 7 p.m. and from 8 a.m. until time of services on Saturday.
Mrs. Miller died at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan 9, 2008 at 10:18 N. Cutting Ave. in Jennings.
She was born to Matthew Alphonse and Aspasie (Primeaux) Portie in Grand Chenier to a pioneer family. She was a homemaker, seamstress and past member of The Jennings Homemaker's Club.
Survivors include her son, Warner Dua Miller & his wife, Julia Maum Miller of Lake Arthur, their grandchildren, Cherie Miller Rivas and her husband, Juan Carlos Rivas and Jeannie A. Miller Dempsey and her husband, Eric Dempsey, of Casanova, Virginia: great-grandchild, Kiley Dempsey; Duane J. Miller and his wife, Keri Esthay Miller, of Midlothian, Virginia and great-grandchildren, Mallory & Morgan Miller, Charles L. Miller and his wife Kristetta L. Gray Miller of Pineville; great-grandchildren, Kailyn G. Miller and Emma H Miller, her son John R. Miller and his wife, Mary A.
