She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-nine years, Larry Frederick Smith, Sr.; and her siblings, Thelma Rhodes, Rachel Rhodes, Lem C. Potter, Cora Summers, Barbara Kuykendall, and Robert C. Potter; sons-in-law, Charles Young, Larry Odom, and Winston Cockburn.
Lois was a graduate of North Little Rock High School and retired from St. Paul Insurance Company. She enjoyed staying busy, cooking for her family, especially on holidays and Sundays, gardening, and watching and cheering for all Razorback sports and St. Louis Cardinal games. Her children, grandchildren, and family meant the world to her.
She is survived by eight children: Sandra Odom, Cecelia Cockburn, Larry Smith, Jr., Clyde (Brenda) Smith, Margaret Smith, Patricia (Tony) Rivera, Beverly (Bob) Minard, and David (Tanya) Scott Smith. She had fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She had a large extended family as well.
A special thanks goes to the staff at Encore Nursing Home for their attentive care during her stay. Also, thanks to Kindred Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to Arkansas Children's Hospital or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Calvary Cemetery.
