In 1977, Cathy graduated from Wood Memorial High School in Oakland City and for the last 19 years has shared a blended family with her husband, best friend and soulmate, Rick Marshall. They have shared so many memorable moments in their life together, enjoying the little things in life like going for rides and exploring new restaurants. For her professional career, Cathy worked in Real Estate for 36 years, founding Heart and Home Real Estate in Princeton, IN in 1995. Blessed with the gift of faith, Cathy was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Oakland City and Holy Rosary in Evansville. Cathy was also an avid animal lover adopting every kitten she encountered and raising her fur babies, William, Chubby, and Roxie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Mike Mason.
Cathy is survived by her son, Brian Schoonover (Shannon) of Oakland City, IN; son, Eric Schoonover of Evansville, IN; daughter, Jaimee Light (Michael) of Miami, FL; sister, Peggy (Mason) Cundiff; brother, Jim Mason (Kama); sister-in-law, Tammy Wasson; step-children, Chris Marshall of Gentryville, IN, Derrick Marshall (Melissa) of Evansville, IN and Ericka Marshall of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Houston, Bailey, London, Sophie and Garrison. Cathy was also a devoted aunt to her nieces and nephews, Dan Mason (John), Pat Mason (Lori), Cara King, Chris Cundiff (Jennifer), WD Cundiff (predeceased), Stephanie Thornton (Travis), Kabreea Godfrey (Justin), Nathan Schoonover (Mindy), Libby Donohoo (Todd) and Rob Kerney and Crissy Kerney.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 A.M. (C.S.T.) Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Oakland City, Indiana with Father Frank Renner officiating, and Father Bernie Etienne in spirit. Burial will follow at Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City, Indiana. Visitation is from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. (C.S.T.) Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at the Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel.
