She grew up and attended school in Salina, graduating from Salina High School. She married her sweetheart, Russell Eugene "Gene" Robbins on July 17, 1959 in Boatman. Gene and Mary Sue made their home in Pryor where they raised their family and were active in the community. Mary Sue was a homemaker for all of her married life but she also worked in various businesses in downtown Pryor, part-time. Gene and Mary Sue were both active and faithful members of First Baptist Church in Pryor, where she taught 3rd grade Sunday school for over 30 years. She later attended Life Fellowship Church in Pryor where she still held an active membership.
When she wasn't busy with church activities, she enjoyed reading, working outdoors in her yard and she loved going to water aerobics. She was a sports fan and would watch any kind of ballgame that was on. The most important part of her life though, was her family, especially her ten grandkids and five great grandsons. She was proud of them all and never missed an opportunity to visit with them. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gene in 2004 and her infant twin sister, Peggy Lou.
