Rodney Clay Taylor, 61, of Douds, Iowa, passed away Wednesday April 13, 2022, at his home.

Rodney Taylor was born December 4, 1960, to Donald and Edna (Gardner) Taylor.

He graduated from Cardinal Community High School in 1979. He spent most of his life in the Selma and Douds area.

He worked for a while as a security guard in Denison, Iowa. Rodney enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and always had a smile on his face. His true love was stock car racing, whether at local tracks or taking in NASCAR events on TV. If you wanted to know any details about a driver, or a specific car, Rodney had the details. The same can be said for the St. Louis Cardinals. He knew every player and was a source for any statistic. He will be missed and remembered by his family and many friends.

Rodney was preceded in death by his mother and father.

The family wishes to say thank you to Bethel Worship Center for the kindness and care they showed for Rodney over the last several years.

Any memorial contributions can be directed to:
Bethel Worship Center
14063 Walnut Street
Douds, IA 52551

His body has been cremated. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at the Iowaville Cemetery near Selma, Iowa. Friends may leave online condolences at www.cranstonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
