Doris Eleanor (Waddell) Evans, 88, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022. Doris was born on August 4, 1933 in Carthage to William Deldon Waddell and Alta Elizabeth (Scott) Waddell. She was a lifetime Carthage resident who worked as a manager for Midland Properties until she retired in 2004. Doris was a member of the Avilla Baptist Church. Her greatest joy was her family, she was "Granny" to everyone. You never left her or finished a phone call without several "I love you's".
Doris was joined in marriage to Bobby Lee Evans, Sr. in Harrison, Arkansas on August 26, 1950; he preceded her in death on May 16, 2001.
She is survived by her children, Roberta Murray (Dean) Adams, Bob (JoAnn) Evans, Bill Evans, Randall (Stephanie) Evans, Debbie Evans, Lonnie (Sherry) Evans, and son-in-law John E. Murray II; grandchildren, Kirsten (Jason) Kelley, Wendy Bastings, Chris (Tamra) Evans, Kari (Greg) Bruce, Clay Evans, Drew (Adriana) Evans, Addi (Rick) Skidmore, Samantha (Brett) Cline, Jake (Christina) Evans, Jamey (Karena) Evans, Kristian Terry, Sha Terry (Fiance, Jordan Glover), Zack Evans, and Hannah (Shylor) Terry; and great-grandchildren, Karson Murray, Audrey Kelley, Sydney (Andrew) Medlin, Dawson Bastings, Brendan Bernal, Emma Evans, Ryan Bruce, Alex Bruce, Olivia Bruce, Dylan Evans, Anthony Evans, Bianca Evans, Roman Evans, Easton Evans, Kinzey Kinney, Kaylin Kinney, Aidan Cline, Breckin Cline, Wyatt Cline, Parker Cline, Joey Evans, Natalie Evans, Nick Evans, Peyton Adamson, Liam Adamson, Ela Terry, Henry Terry, George Terry, Violet Terry, Chasten Utter, Evan Utter, Addie Glover and Jaelynn Glover.
Along with her husband, Bobby, Doris is preceded in death by her parents; son, Mike Evans; grandson, Wade Utter; her brother, Paul (Alene) Waddell; and her sisters, Fern Neatherry, and Marcella Moore.
A funeral service is scheduled for Doris at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 22, 2022 at the Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, Missouri. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. The burial will follow the service at Park Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri.
