David William Griffin, 58, died suddenly April 16, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born October 6, 1963, in Hutchinson, to John William and Janice (Ayers) Griffin.

David graduated from Nickerson High School in 1982. He was a farmer/stockman, and owned Griffin Seed House with his father. David enjoyed farming, stock car racing, barn parties, and he had a gift for mentoring individuals, both young and old. David cherished the times spent with his "grand-girls".

On April 30, 1983, he married Darla Renee Green, in Nickerson. She died May 16, 1990, along with their son, Russell William Griffin. On October 6, 2018, he married his former high school classmate, Rebecca Bayless, at their farm home, rural Nickerson.

David is survived by: wife, Rebecca Griffin; father, John Griffin (Gina Glenn), all of Nickerson; mother, Janice "Jan" Griffin Piatt; sister, Jennifer Griffin Rueschhoff (Jason), all of Blue Springs, MO; stepchildren, Mike Webster (Cynthia) of Pottsville, AR,and Chelsey Chandler (Trevor) of Russellville, AR; his "grand-girls", Paisley Chandler, Brylee Chandler, Mattie Webster, and Macie Webster; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Darla; son, Russell; sister, Gail Bugner; and stepfather, Jack Piatt.

Celebration of Life service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Lowell Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary. The family requests casual attire, just as David would have wanted

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the David W. Griffin Memorial Fund (to be shared with various organizations David supported), in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

The family invites David's friends to gather at the Knights of Columbus, 1200 W. 15th, Hutchinson, immediately following the burial for light refreshments and to share memories of David.
