Lynn "Bud" Bishop, 72, of 209 Alder St., Liverpool, died Monday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center after a long illness. A native of Toronto, Canada, Mr. Bishop grew up in Fabius. He retired in 1967 at the rank of Major after 24 years in the Army. He was a World War II veteran and spent much of his career in Army Intelligence. Mr. Bishop retired in 1983 as a senior loss control specialist with Nationwide Insurance. Mr. Bishop was a member of Liverpool First United Methodist Church, former president of the Retired Officers Association of Central New York and a life member of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers. He was a member of Liverpool Post 188, American Legion. He served several years on the Onondaga County Veterans Service Advisory Board and the Retired Army Council at Fort Drum. Mr. Bishop was a volunteer at the Veterans Administration and the Onondaga County Health Department. Surviving are his wife, the former Marjorie Pilcher, a son, Paul of Cleveland, Ohio; a daughter, Pamela Gardner of Liverpool; two sisters, Jeanne Bishop of West Allis, Wis., and Nancy Dady of New Woodstock; a brother, Gerry of Pinetop, Ariz; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services were Thursday. Burial was in Liverpool Cemetery. Maurer Funeral Home, Liverpool, has charge of arrangements.
