Mike served his country in the U.S. Army, as an infantry officer, including a combat tour in Vietnam in 1969 and 1970. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Law, in Columbia in 1973. After working in general practice with a small firm, Mike joined the Greene County Prosecutor's Office in 1975. In 1978, Mike became the Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Springfield branch of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Missouri. He thereafter served as supervisor for the branch office until 2007. During his tenure, Mike received many commendations for his trial work. In 2007, he began work in Springfield as a lawyer for the Missouri Attorney General's office, serving there for over four years.
In his retirement years, Mike enjoyed life at their lake house with Gloria and their family. Mike felt he was truly blessed with his wife, three sons, and eight grandchildren. Along with his wife Gloria, Mike is survived by his son Matt, his wife Beverly, and their children Carson and Paige; his son Brett, and his children Beckham, Natalie, Courtney, and Griffin; and by his son Scott, his wife Kelli, and their children Caleb and Kendall.
Burial with Full Military Honors Friday, April 22, in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
