Robert L. Butler, 77, of Monroeville, passed away Monday, April 18, 2022 at Adams Heritage Monroeville.
He was born on October 20, 1944, in Elkhart, Indiana to the late Donald N. Butler and the late Margerite B. (Miller) Butler. Robert was united in marriage for 51 years to Carolyn R. Meyer on September 26, 1970 at St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church in Monroeville, Indiana.
He graduated from South Side High School in 1963. He was a member of St. Rose de Lima Catholic church. Robert was also a member of Knights of Columbus in Bluffton, Indiana.
He was employed at General Electric as a Maintenance Technician retiring in 2003 after 39 years of service.
Robert was an avid outdoorsman and gardener. He was a joy to be around and lived for his faith, family, and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn R. Butler of Monroeville, Indiana; son, Theron J. (Marcinda R. McClish) Butler of Fort Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Carmen (Dan) MacPherson of Fort Wayne, Indiana; son, Anthony J. Butler of Monroeville, Indiana; step-sister, Cheri Palozzi of Elkhart, Indiana; and four grandchildren, Morgahn Butler, Jack MacPherson, Nolan MacPherson, and Alanna MacPherson.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Franklyn Butler, and his sister, Judith Butler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville with Father Maicaal Lobo officiating. Burial will follow at St. Rose Cemetery in Monroeville, Indiana.
Reciting of the Holy Rosary will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Friday April 22, 2022.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, Indiana.
