Mrs. Blanche G. Lawson, 74, of 515 1/2 Sherman died at 4:07 pm Saturday (July 10, 1982) in the emergency room at Lakeview Medical Center. Vermilion County Coroner Lyle Irvin attributed death to natural causes. Mrs. Lawson, a former resident of Brazil, Ind., had lived at the Sherman street address two years. She was formerly employed at the Terre Haute House hotel and resteraunt and the Ritz Plaza Hotel in Terre Haute. She was a memeber of the Pentecostal Church in Brazil and was a member of the Danville TOPS Club. She enjoyed watching television, raising flowers and sewing. Born Nov. 7, 1907, in Knightsville, Ind., she was the daughter of Charles Austin and Helen Walker McCarty. She attended Knightsville and Brazil schools. She married Frank Tallman on Jan. 13, 1927 in Terre Haute. He preceded her in death. She married John Lawson Aug. 4, 1961, in Terre Haute. He died in 1979. Four sons also preceded her in death. Survivors include three sons, Billy Joe Tallman of Danville, Bobby Gene Tallman of Butlerville, Ind., and Merle Eugene Tallman of Indiana; two daughters, Mrs. Chester (Helen)Walker of Danville and Thelma Buck of Tampa, Fla.; 21 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery in West Terre Haute but other arrangements are incomplete at Bedino Peace Chapel in Terre Haute. Pape Memorial Home is in charge of local arrangements.
