Perry Jones, Jr., age 85, of Elwood, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Alden Estates of Naperville.
He was the son of Perry and Ruby (Heard) Jones, Sr.
Perry was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force.
In 1959, he began working for Caterpillar, Inc. and retired as Tool Crib Manager in 1992 after 33 years.
He was an active member of the Joliet Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, where he served as an Elder.
Perry loved to travel and tend to his yard.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 55 years, Mary Alice (Keys) Jones; his children, Perry (Elaine) Jones III, Victor Jones, Cynthia Jones, Kowanda Jallow, and Stacey (Emily) Jones; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Rebecca Waddell; one sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Jones; along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Perry was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Simon Jones; and three sisters, Tempy (Joe) Weal, Jerlene (Jack Sr.) Crosby and Corine (Robert Sr.) Ammons.
Funeral services 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet.
Interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
