He served his country on two tours of duty in the Navy. After leaving the Navy, he joined IBEW Local 461 where he became a journeyman, teacher, and union organizer. He retired in 2002 but still taught for several years. Never one to sit still, Rich continued to work in his workshop between fishing and bowling, which were his passions until his last days.
He leaves behind his loving, devoted wife Penelope Lee; his daughter, Shawn (Chris) Dyer; his son Kenneth (Tami) Lee; his stepsons Tony Abbinanti, Michael (Ellen) Abbinanti, and Tim (Becky) Abbinanti, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and a very special niece and family.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, a brother, Tyrone Lee; a sister, Delores Johnson and a brother-in-law, Robert
Johnson.
Private interment will take place at River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia.
