Shirley Delores Williams of Indianapolis, IN passed away April 6, 2022. She was born October 26, 1935 in Indianapolis, IN where she attended Arsenal Tech High School and graduated from Central State University in Wilberforce, OH. Shirley was a retired teacher at IPS Schools, spending most of her time as an elementary educator at General Hospital (Wishard) Pediatric Ward for hospitalized students. She was an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. she was highly involved in other civic groups as well as her church, Oasis of Hope Baptist church.
She leaves behind her daughter, Charlene Cheatham (Eric); sister, Jo Diane Ivey (Franklin); three grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and family.
Services are at 6 pm on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, with visitation from 4 pm until time of service at 6 pm at Oasis of Hope Baptist Church. Followed by a private interment at Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis.
