Donald G. "Don" Mackie, 90, of rural Williamsfield, died Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at his home.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 23 at Williamsfield Cemetery with Chaplain Jordan Knight officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following the graveside services at the Williamsfield American Legion. Memorials may be directed to Williamsfield United Methodist Church. Rux Funeral Home in Williamsfield is in charge of arrangements.

He was born March 8, 1932 in rural Williamsfield in the same home in which he lived and died in. Don was the son of Earl Edwin and Clora Catherine (Robinson) Mackie. He married Helen E. Cheesman on January 14, 1951 in Galesburg and she preceded him in death April 28, 2016. Survivors include his two sons, Michael (Tasi) Mackie of Williamsfield and Daniel (Sherry) Mackie of Mapleton, IL, eight grandchildren; Mack Johnson of Williamsfield, James (Amanda) Mackie of Alpharetta, GA, Beau (Amber) Johnson and Drew Mackie, both of Williamsfield, Danielle Mackie of San Diego, CA, Whitney (Lucas) Leckrone of Williamsfield, Lacy (Cody) Niebuhr of Dahinda and Nate Mackie of Williamsfield, nine great grandchildren and his dedicated caretakers, Dana Tucker and Marcy Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his daughter and son-in-law, Janice (Norman) Johnson and brother and sister-in-law, Ralph (Louise) Mackie.

Don graduated from Williamsfield High School in 1949. He farmed the family farm with his wife, retiring at the age of 80. He also owned and operated Don Mackie Bulldozing. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and a member of the Williamsfield United Methodist Church, Williamsfield Elevator Board and the Knox County Farm Bureau.
