HUGH STRAUS DIES FOUNDER OF STORE
New York - Hugh Grand Straus 71, a retired vice president of Abraham and Straus Department Store and a founder of Federated Department Stores Inc., died yesterday in the Harkness Pavilion of Columbia - Presbyterian Medical Center.
Straus served for many years as treasurer and a director of Abraham and Straus. He graduated from Princeton University and served in World War I.
