Joyce was born December 16, 1942 in Harrisburg to Wendell and Virginia Hoosier Meredith. She was a 1961 graduate of Harrisburg High School.
Joyce was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed growing and canning vegetables. She and her husband formerly owned and operated Morrison's Antiques. She was a member of the Bay United Methodist Church for over 50 years.
Joyce retired from Wal-Mart in 2007. She worked hard to provide for her family, whom she loved deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Edna Mae Mathis, and a great-granddaughter.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Wilburn Morrison; two sons, Blaine Morrison (Tangelia) and Derrick Morrison; three grandchildren she raised as her own, Zach Morrison, Nicole Jefferson (Quinton), and Cassie Morrison; a step-daughter Debbie Morrison Hinz, and two step-grandchildren, Bill Hinz and Lindsey Hinz; five great-grandchildren, and her beloved pet Boxer, Bodie.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 12 noon until service time in the chapel.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Donald Lewert officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Scott Ellington, Phillip Vanwinkle, Paul Spencer, Darrell Spencer, Chuck Wells, and Jake Martin.
