Went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 4, 2008 at the CJW Hospital in Richmond, VA after a progressive illness. A longtime resident of Quincy, MA, she most recently resided with her daughter's family in Virginia. The widow of James M. Saudade who died in 2003, Mildred is survived by her son, James J. Saudade of Brownsville, VT, her daughter, Mary E. Saudade-Farley, granddaughter Tiffany Jenna Farley and son-in-law Timothy A. Farley, all of Colonial Heights, VA. She retired from the Quincy Public School system where she worked as an executive secretary. Caring, selfless and thrifty, Mildred enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading, homemaking, crocheting and knitting, among other crafts, and of course going to Bingo games with her friends and family. Visiting hours will be held at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home, 74 Elm St., QUINCY CENTER on Friday, January 11 from 11:30AM to 1:00PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Mildred will then be buried with her husband at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 2:30PM.
